Lone Raven Craig & Kara Markley Contact

"GREAT! OUTSTANDING! WONDERFUL!  It is something very special for a father and daughter to make music together, and at such a high level of performance. WOW!"

-John Holsinger/EMC

Craig and his daughter, Kara have been performing together since Kara was old enough to hold a violin. They specialize in playing traditional Celtic, World and original music, and perform throughout Ohio and the surrounding states. They also perform with Lone Raven and are members of the Ohio Arts Council.

Kara Markley-Fiddles, Vocals, and Keyboards
Beginning her musical career at an early age, Kara is already an accomplished vocalist and fiddle player.  In the past, she has studied with renowned players Eileen Ivers, Deborah Colon, Natalie MacMaster, John McCuster and Jerry Holland, among others.

Kara made her recording debut at the age of 13 on "The Lone Raven", where she sang a lovely version of Bill Staines' The River.  Aside from her duo work, she was a member of the rock and roll cover band, Virtual Crush, and she currently performs in the popular World/Celtic music band, Lone Raven.  In addition to her live performances, Kara teaches private fiddle lessons and does occasional session work.

Kara is a Cum Laude graduate of Ohio State University, where she holds a major in Ancient History and a minor in English.  In her free time, she is a model, actress and writer with several works published.  She is currently pursuing careers in the entertainment and writing industries.

Craig Markley-Keyboards, Accordions, Whistles, Guitar, Woodwinds, Bodhran, Percussion, Vocals
Craig Markley is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and session musician. Coming from a varied background of rock, blues, funk and jazz, he has pursued an avid interest in Celtic and World music for the last fifteen years, and has appeared on many recordings. Though his first love was the famed Hammond B-3 organ, he now plays a wide variety of contemporary and ethnic instruments, and probably owns way more than he should!

Craig's compositions have been used for several independent films and by various major modern dance troupes throughout the U.S.  Aside from performing with Kara, he also currently writes and performs with the popular World/Celtic music band, Lone Raven, and the Pauken/Harris based-band, Sirens.  In addition, he and longtime friend, David Reddick, were the founding members of the popular Celtic band, Stark Raven.

Craig is also an accomplished recording engineer, and his LRM Studio is sought after by many local artists for recording their demo and CD projects.
